Physiotherapy

Physiotherapists are health care professionals who play a significant role in health promotion and treatment of injury and disease.

The Physiotherapists use their in-depth knowledge of the body to assess and treat using evidenced-based practice. Physiotherapists help patients increase mobility, relieve pain, build strength, restore and increase range of motion in joints, improve balance and maximize cardiorespiratory function.

All Physiotherapists at Sensenbrenner Hospital are licensed by the College of Physiotherapist of Ontario. Our team is comprised of Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Assistants.

Our Services

Physiotherapy may be provided to individuals of all ages, during your hospital stay as well as on an outpatient basis. The out-patient clinic offers private services, WSIB, health claims for Auto Insurance, LHIN Episodes of Care, and, Bundles of Care for joint replacements.

Clients can self-refer to private services.  A doctor/specialist or nurse practioner’s referral is required to access Episodes of Care and Bundles of Care programs (public funding).

Assessment and treatment are available for musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, cardiorespiratory conditions, concussions, lymphedema and post-op.

Your personalized treatment may include: education, manual therapy, acupuncture, graduated condition-specific exercises, posture correction, modalities (traction, IFC, ultrasound, laser, TENS), lymphatic drainage, gait and balance training, and scar management.
